Richard has 21 years experience in Law, Investment Banking and corporate strategy.

As an adviser to corporations both as a lawyer and investment banker, Richard has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and broad corporate advice. He has acted on a broad range of domestic and international corporate finance and strategic initiatives including significant mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and major corporate reconstructions.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws and has post graduate qualifications in Applied Finance and Investments. He is a director or Probiotec Limited and a Governor of the Art Gallery of NSW.

Duncan has 20 years experience in Investment Banking and Chartered Accounting in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Duncan’s experience in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and corporate advice covers a range of international companies, several of Australia’s largest public companies as well as privately owned family businesses.  Duncan has advised on transactions with a combined enterprise value in excess of $5.0 billion. 

Prior to co-founding Pier in October 2005, Duncan was a consultant to Equity Capital Markets Limited.  Duncan was previously a Director of Investment Banking at JBWere and a Director of Investment Banking Deutsche Bank specialising in mergers and acquisitions and corporate financial advice.

Duncan holds a Bachelor of Financial Administration from the University of New England, has post graduate qualifications in Applied Finance and Investments and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Luiz has over five years experience in finance and has held several domestic and international positions in a wide variety of roles, including Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Project Finance and Investment Banking.

Prior to join Pier Capital, Luiz acted as a consultant to Gryphon Partners in Sydney, working with the project finance team. Previously, he was a member of Brasilpar’s Investment Banking team in São Paulo (Brazil), involved in both M&A and Capital Markets transactions. Luiz started his career at Citigroup, where he worked in several positions focused on both finance and strategy.

Luiz holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mackenzie University and has post graduate qualifications in Project Finance from FGV-SP.
